The 2026 Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (North Africa) International Final Concluded Successfully


On April 24, the 2026 Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (North Africa) International Final came to a successful close in Morocco which attracted a total of 121 teams and 228 participants from multiple countries including China, Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt. Mr. Liu Chengang, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Morocco attended the closing ceremony and spoke highly of the role and significance of the competition in promoting China-Africa educational cooperation and deepening people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Africa.

Two tracks were set up for the finals of this year on the Innovation Technology Competition and the Future Skills Challenge Competition, with a total of 31 tracks.  The Technology Innovation Competition, themed “Technology Innovation Leading the New Industrial Development of BRICS Countries,” included 10 tracks in areas such as advanced manufacturing, green energy, and artificial intelligence. The Future Skills Challenge Competition focused on the wave of “Industry 4.0” development, with 21 tracks in core areas including smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and digital technology. With a global perspective, the competition built a platform for interconnected skills exchange and achievement display, helping to develop participants’ coordination and teamwork skills, innovative and practical thinking, and cross-cultural communication abilities.


Through intense competition, participants from different countries fully demonstrated their professional expertise and technical capabilities. Following the final evaluation, a total of 25 gold medals, 28 silver medals, and 33 bronze medals were awarded— marking fruitful results. Throughout the competition, the innovative thinking, professional theoretical knowledge, practical and creative abilities, as well as the humanistic qualities demonstrated by Chinese and international participants received unanimous praise from the expert judges.

This event is not only the professional skills competition between China and African students of colleges and universities, but also a practical action to “use the competition as a bridge, pursue progress through the competition, achieve win-win cooperation and forge long-lasting friendship”. As the overseas organization unit of this competition, the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association, SNAEIA, has always attached great importance to the whole process of the competition. From coordinating internal and external affairs, integrating resources, organizing preparations to ensuring implementation, the process is rigorous, ensuring that the competition is professional, standardized, fair and consistent with international standards.
