"Launch Ceremony of the 2026 Belt & Road and BRICS Auditorium of Future Technology Skills in Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and North Africa International Competition" was successfully held in Xiamen

On November 23 and 24, 2025, the “Launch Ceremony of 2026 Belt & Road and BRICS Auditorium of Future Technology Skills in Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and North Africa International Competition” held successfully at the BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovationg in Xiamen. Mr. MAZOUZ and Mr. MABROUK, Vice Presidents of Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association, took the delegation attending the ceremony, together with more than 160 experts, scholars, teachers and students from China, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and other countries.

At the ceremony, Dr. Liu Zhenying, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition Organizing Committee and Dean of the BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (Xiamen), Mr. MAZOUZ, Mr. MABROUK as well as other distinguished guests, jointly lit up the start screen for the international competition, which is marking the launch of “2026 Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation---North Africa International Competition”.

In his speech, Dr. Liu Zhenying stated that North Africa serves as a pivotal part for extending the Belt and Road Initiative into Africa and holds strategic significance within the BRICS cooperation framework. Hosting the competition in North Africa aims to deepen the integration of the Belt and Road Initiative with BRICS collaboration mechanisms, creating a high-end platform for global youth to learn from each other. This initiative will effectively advance cooperation among the nations in vocational education, technological innovation, and talent cultivation.

Mr. ABDELLATIF MAZOUZ, fully affirmed the profound significance of the competition in promoting cultural exchanges, technological innovation, and talent development between China and Africa in his address. He expressed his hope that this platform would continue to help Chinese and North African youth enhance mutual understanding and grow together. Mr. KAIS MABROUK stated that Tunisia’s right now urgently need for highly skilled technical talent. He expressed his hope that, relying on the competition's training system and advanced platform to effectively enhance the learning and practical capabilities of Tunisian youth in future-oriented cutting-edge technical skills.

As a co-organizer of the competition, SNAEIA has been deeply involved in all aspects of the competition to ensure its high quality and standards. It collaborated with the organizers to systematically plan and design the key aspects such as competition organization, technical standards, and question design and evaluation. The experts from SNAEIA have been involved throughout the process in discussing and interpreting the competition’s technical documents. Following the ceremony, a dedicated working meeting was held with Dr. Liu Zhenying, Chairman of the BRICS Competition Organizing Committee, along with representatives from SNAEIA member institutions, to further refine the preparatory plan for 2026 North Africa International Competition and optimize its framework and training plan.

The successful holding of the “Launch Ceremony of the 2026 Belt & Road and BRICS Auditorium of Future Technology Skills in Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and  North Africa International Competition” demonstrates the practical efforts of the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association in advancing educational cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, assisting in the implementation of “Future African Plan”, and fostering collaboration between China and North Africa in vocational education standards, global talent development, and skills competitions.
