Project Background
Hainan College of Economics and Business is one of the first institutions to be selected and undertake the "Chinese + Vocational Skills" training. Since the project began in 2023, the school has signed a cooperation agreement with the Northern Kuala Lumpur International College, Malaysia, to jointly build the "Chinese + Vocational Skills" training and the "Chinese Learning and Testing Center."
The "Chinese + Vocational Skills" training is a collaborative effort between Chinese Testing International Co., Ltd. and the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association. This project relies on the "Chinese Learning and Testing Center" to pragmatically carry out the construction of the "Chinese + Vocational Skills" training, innovating the international service and talent cultivation model of Chinese education. This not only meets the needs of Malaysian Chinese enthusiasts in learning Chinese and foreign students studying in China but also aids in expanding the cooperative regions of Chinese and Malaysian universities, building project brands, and promoting industry-education integration. It lays a foundation for future cultural and cooperative exchanges between the youth and faculty of the two countries and schools.

Recently, the Chinese Learning and Testing Center, co-built by Hainan College of Economics and Business and the Northern Kuala Lumpur International College, Malaysia (hereinafter referred to as the "Center"), conducted an online training session on "Chinese + Tourism Management." A total of 101 participants, including faculty, students, administrative staff from the Northern Kuala Lumpur International College, Malaysia, and employees from Chinese enterprises, attended the training.
The training lasted for four days and comprised four teaching modules: "Tourism Service Etiquette," "Tourism Real Estate," "Tourism Marketing," and "Practical Chinese for Tourism - Living in Hainan." The modules on Tourism Real Estate and Tourism Marketing closely followed current tourism trends, providing detailed introductions to basic concepts and development history while offering in-depth analyses of China's real estate and tourism market and industry case studies. These modules effectively enhanced the participants' grasp of professional knowledge and understanding of the Chinese tourism market. The Tourism Service Etiquette module comprehensively explained the common etiquette norms and requirements for tourism service personnel in terms of image building and industry communication, using Chinese tourism service etiquette as an example. The Practical Chinese for Tourism - Living in Hainan module introduced the types of hotels and room categories in Hainan. Through scenario-based dialogue training, participants learned hotel service terminology and practical Chinese for tourists, thereby improving their Chinese language proficiency.
In December 2023, with the assistance of Chinese Testing International Co., Ltd., the school initiated the joint construction of the "Chinese + Vocational Skills" training with the Northern Kuala Lumpur International College, Malaysia, and applied for the national-level project "Chinese Learning and Testing Center" based on this training. The establishment and operation of the Center signify a solid step forward in the school's path towards internationalization. It expands the cooperation between China and Malaysia in the field of vocational education and provides a platform for humanistic exchanges, telling the Chinese story well and spreading Chinese culture. This foundation is essential for future exchanges between the youth and faculty of the two countries and schools, contributing to in-depth cooperation in education, culture, and economics between China and Malaysia.
