Strategic Cooperation Reached between the SNAEIA and Sinohydro Stecol Corporation

"On November 10, 2023, the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SINOHYDRO STECOL CORPORATION. Both parties, based on the principles of mutual benefit and common development, established a partnership to encourage cooperation in the areas of education and information technology. The collaboration aims to deepen international understanding, explore innovation in industry-education integration, promote local training of employees, facilitate internships and employment for university students, and enhance mutual friendship.

On August 24, 2023,  Xi Jinping-President of the People's Republic of China, delivered a keynote speech titled "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Create a Great Future for China and Africa" at China-Africa Leaders' Dialogue, announcing three measures. One of them is the implementation of the "China-Africa Cooperation on Talent Development," aiming to annually train 500 vocational school principals and key faculty members, cultivating 10,000 compound talents proficient in both Chinese language and vocational skills.

On October 8, 2023, the opening ceremony of "The Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation" took place in Beijing. President Xi Jinping attended and delivered a keynote speech titled "Building an Open, Inclusive and Interconnected World For Common Development." During the forum, Xi Jinping announced eight actions supporting the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road.

Guided by President Xi's keynote speech and the eight actions, the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association embarked on a series of international cooperation visits to Algeria from October 21 to November 2, 2023.The objective was to actively contribute towards the development of a mutually beneficial future for both China and Africa. This involved providing additional support to the initiative "Belt and Road", as well as fostering international collaboration in the realm of digital innovation within vocational education.

On November 10, 2023, the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association and SINOHYDRO STECOL CORPORATION signed a MOU. According to the terms of the MOU, the two parties, guided by the principles of mutual benefit and common development, will engage in practical cooperation based on the Algerian branch, including employee technical skills training, Chinese language learning and training for employees, "order-based" talent cultivation, and internships for new employees in collaboration with schools and enterprises.

This collaboration aims to join hands with SINOHYDRO STECOL CORPORATION, adhere to the "Venturing Abroad with Enterprises" approach, effectively serve the needs of enterprises going global, implement a combination of education and training, and expand the international influence of vocational education.

SINOHYDRO STECOL CORPORATION, established on November 26, 2015, is the first overseas branch of STECOL CORPORATION, mainly responsible for North African countries, with its headquarters in the capital city of Algeria, Algiers. Honorary awards for key projects of SINOHYDRO STECOL CORPORATION, such as:

233MW Photovoltaic Power Plant in Algeria: The first large-scale grid-connected photovoltaic power station in the African region, honored with the 2016 China Electric Power Construction High Quality Engineering Award and the 2018-2019 China Construction Engineering Luban Prize (National Quality Project). The project received the "Good Performance, Excellent Subcontractor" trophy from the project owner, Algeria Power and New Energy Development Company. A monograph titled "Guangyao Sahara - Innovation and Practice in International Photovoltaic EPC Project Management" was published. The project was featured in an exclusive interview by CCTV4's "Home in the Distance" program, showcasing it as a demonstrative project of Chinese enterprises implementing the "Belt and Road" initiative in Africa.

Algeria Nine Concrete Granary Projects: The first concrete granary project undertaken by STECOL CORPORATION, awarded the First Prize, 2020-2021 National Excellent Engineering Award (Overseas Project). It also received the Best Design Award from the National Grain Bureau of Algeria. The project has been extensively covered by various domestic media outlets, including China Central Television (CCTV) and Xinhua News Agency, as well as mainstream media in Algeria.
